Permissive Tax Exemption
Deadline for submissions:  July 15, 2018
 

Local governments have the legislative authority under Section 224 of the Community Charter to permit tax exemptions for properties that are owned or held by a charitable, philanthropic or other not for profit corporation, and are used for a purpose that is directly related to the purposes of the municipality. 

 

The City of Rossland recognizes the significant value of volunteers and volunteer organizations to the spiritual, educational, social, cultural and physical well-being of the community and as such, the Council approved a Permissive Tax Exemption Policy which authorizes the Finance department to review and evaluate the eligibility of each Permissive Tax Exemption application.

Large-scale open burns are set to be banned across the Southeast Fire Centre effective Friday, June 8, according to the provincial government.

The City of Rossland is seeking proposals from qualified individuals or firms to execute a public information and input process regarding both current and future recreational facilities, programs and services offered in the community and region.

The outcome must be an understanding of the preferred recreation alternatives or options / trends that lead the City in the development of future facilities, programs and services specific to Rossland and its surrounding area.

The successful Consultant will have demonstrated experience in public consultation activities related to recreation, particularly within the context of Local Government operations.
