Rossland Arena


Arena Season is coming to an end!  The last day in the Arena is Sunday, March 5, 2017.  There is ice available in the next week if you are interested in booking some.  You can go onto the City's new online facility scheduling software and after Creaating an Account, you can go to the Facility Request, and book ice.  The software can be accessed at;

Public Skating:  In the last week of operations, the Public Skating schedule will change slightly.  

Sunday, February 26, 2:30-4:00pm and 6:00-7:30pm
Wednesday March 1:  6:30-7:30pm  LAST Public Skating of the season!  Toonie Skate for all!  

This last Public Skating session comes right after the Rossland Figure Skating Club's Year End Show from 5:00-6:15pm.  The theme this year is "Around the World" Admission is by donation and there will be hot chocolate and baked goods to enjoy while you're watching the skaters! 

Co-Ed REC Hockey, Drop In, Tuesday evenings, 9:30-10:30pm

Fun Hockey for all who want to "play nice" hockey!  $10.00 Drop In, 20 Max, Goalies get in Free!

Enter on 2nd Ave.  Must sign waiver and pay the Coordinator before going on the ice.

Thursdays, 1:45-3:15pm, $10.00 Drop In - Full hockey gear required

Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30pm (Toonie Skate!) 

Sundays, 2:30-4:00pm **  The early afternoon Public Skating on Sundays sometimes cancels due to Minor Hockey Tournaments.  We will advertise the cancellation of the 2:30pm skate here, on the website and also on Bhubble.com and Facebook.  (Rossland Recreation).

Arena Rentals

Interested in renting the Arena for a Birthday Party or Private Rental?  Call the Recreation Department for available times and dates. (Rates differ for time of day and youth / adult rentals). 

Available Ice

There is often ice available on the weekends if Minor Hockey is not using some of their booked time.  If you're interested in ice on the weekend, please give us a call to see if there's anything available.  

The City of Rossland has been reviewing the Arena fees and charges for the upcoming season.  With the goal of achieving an operating recovery rate that allows the Arena to operate in the future, new rates effective January 1st 2017 were            proposed and passed 1st and 2nd reading by Council this past August.  Council will meet again in September and if the fees pass 3rd reading and are adopted, the new fees will be effective January 1, 2017.  The fees indicated below will be in effect until December 31, 2016.  Season long ice rentals will be invoiced with charges from October to December and then the new fees from January to March, 2017

Rossland Curling Club

Opened in 1957 as an addition to the Rossland Arena, the Rossland Curling club features 4 sheets of ice in a unique heritage atmosphere.  The outstanding and spacious fully licensed lounge looking out on the ice sheets can accommodate 100        people, complete with full kitchen and dance floor. The Club is home to the Rossland Cup, the oldest curling trophy in the world since 1899.  Contact Mike Williams, Manager of the Curling Club to inquire about teams, playtimes, renting sheets or booking private parties.  250-362-5244 or mikescarvings@hotmail.com
