Freedom of Information

Requests for information under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA) must be made in writing, identifying specific record(s) requested. The municipality will respond in 30 days or less and in accordance to the provisions of the Act.  Charges vary, according to the amount of time required to gather the information and estimated costs to retrive any record(s) will be forwarded to the person requesting the information.

Solicitor-client privileges, minutes from closed council meetings and personnel information are exempt, and in some cases, the municipality can sever and release (remove certain passages) of confidential information.
