GET INVOLVED – Economic Development Task Force

The Community Economic Development Task Force has been established by Rossland’s City Council to plan and make recommendations regarding the implementation of Economic Development in Rossland.

The Economic Development Task Force is seeking four members who have a key interest in technology, marketing, and entrepreneurship.

The Economic Development Task Force reports to the Sustainability Commission and follow these general scope and duties for members:

  • Compile and analyze information associated with Community Economic Development, identify issues that need to be addressed and develop recommendations for discussion and endorsement at the Sustainability Commission table for presentation to Council.
  • If appropriate, identify funding opportunities associated with the issues that need to be addressed, participate in regional organizations that are addressing similar issues, and take action.
  • Engage with the community to obtain and provide information with regard to Community Economic Development and promote broad community participation in Community Economic Development initiatives.
  • Focus on attraction and retention of entrepreneurs and businesses, especially nomadic entrepreneurs and small technology companies that do not require large tracts of land.

Interested parties shall apply for membership to the Economic Development Task Force by means of a letter/email to the Development Services Clerk outlining what their interest and qualifications in participating in the Committee. Letters should be received by January 22, 2021.
