Financial Services

The Finance department is responsible for implementing Council decisions and policy guidelines ensuring the financial well-being of our City, through the provision of effective and reliable financial advice, services and information to Council, staff and the public. The City of Rossland collects funds annually from various sources including property taxes, utility payments, service charges, government grants and collections for other taxing authorities. The Finance manager oversees the expenditure of these funds through the annual budget process. Financial functions also include purchasing of goods and services, controlling inventory, accounts payable, payroll, human resources, loans and investments, insurance, and the provision of property tax information.
